Hi, Thijs from Anubex here, so in this video I would like to take you through our step-by-step process of executing a Mainframe migration project, or as we call it here at Anubex, migratonomy. So what is migratonomy? Migratonomy methodology is an innovation that allows you to manage risk during a migration project. Migratonomy enables the application to undergo complex cross-platform migration, for example from Mainframe to Cloud without business interruption.
So how does it work? Well a key characteristic of migratonomy is the concept of an iteration. During a migration project here at Anubex, the application will go through several iterations. Basically this begins with us taking a snapshot of the application. This snapshot in many ways just like a picture of the application will contain two things. First, it will contain all the artifacts in scope, and secondly it will contain all test data and test cases. With this, we go into the first part of the iteration, here we start our data conversion and code transformation. In the second part of the iteration, we take this and start testing the results of the first phase. Differences between the legacy application and the migrated application would be reported and analyzed. This analysis will be taken into the third and final part of the iteration. Here, we'll look at the analysis, take our migration tools and start optimizing and tutoring them according to the analysis.
Once this is done, the cycle starts all over again, and we start a new iteration filled with new conversions, transformations, tests and tuning. This will continue until the end of the process when the legacy application and the migrated application will match 100%, and you and your application are good to go live. During this process, our customers can continue to maintain and enhance their applications, all they do is send out snapshots at regular intervals. Thanks to migratonomy, complex cross-platform mainframe migration projects are becoming commonplace, it's like a major new release of your application just on a new platform.
